Geo 9- First blog post!

Disasters vs Catastrophes 


This semester, I will be doing research on the Geology of Cuba, but before I do research it's important to talk about three natural hazards that can effect everyone. To begin, A Hazard is an event that is a threat to human life and property. A Disaster is a hazard event that occurs over a limited time. A catastrophe is a massive disaster that takes a lot of money and time to recover. Image result for catastrophe

    Hi Angel,

    Yikes! That photo is impactful! Cuba was so hard hit after Irma and Maria, and I look forward to learning more about how they are surviving all these months later. Good luck with your research.

    Nice first entry. Looking forward to all you'll discover about Cuba's natural hazards and how they relate to tectonics this week...please make sure if you use material like that impressive image that you tell us where it comes from. Very important to add all sources of information in all our blogs from now on.
